Freelancer collective
A freelancer collective is an alliance of self-employed people who take on larger commissions together. They share knowledge, contacts and fees fairly and offer skills that one person alone doesn’t cover. The legal form ranges from a civil-law partnership (GbR) to a cooperative. In futures work, youngk is such a collective.
Jonas Drechsel already called for a minimum day rate of 300 euros for freelancers with his first startup. In 2025 he co-founded youngk, a curated collective of more than 20 practitioners. Since May 2025 it has been a GbR, with the intention of becoming a cooperative.
